The University of Queensland Australia is inviting applications for the Leo Howard Memorial Bursary for international students. The bursary is open to a student from a developing country, who has demonstrated academic merit and financial need.

The objective of this scholarship is to assist high-achieving international students from developing countries to undertake undergraduate studies at UQ.

The Leo Howard Memorial Bursary is a fully-funded student program designed to encourage and support international students who wish to study an undergraduate degree program at the University of Queensland, Australia. The bursary is available for the 2022/2023 academic year and the closing date for application is October 13, 2021.

Eligibility: To be eligible, applicants must;

be an international student,

have applied or applying to UQ through QTAC,

have achieved a minimum OP 1 or ATAR 99.95 (or equivalent), and

be commencing an approved undergraduate degree program at UQ in 2022/2023.

This bursary will help you cover your academic fees for the 2022/2023 academic session. The fund is available for UK, EU, or International Students who wish to undertake a postgraduate degree program at the University of Queensland in Australia.

The Leo Howard Memorial Bursary has been established by family and friends to honour the memory of Leo Howard, who died in April 2017 from motor neurone disease. Leo was a well-known member of the Brisbane community and worked in the engineering sector. He had no assets at the time of his death and this Bursary is being established as a way to honour his memory and to enable young people who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend university.

The University of Queensland Australia is offering the Leo Howard Memorial Bursary to individuals who are looking at acquiring a degree program at the Institution.

The grant is designed to help international students with poor financial background who wish to undergo a degree program at the Institution.

Applicants must be enrolled in either one of the following programs:

Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science (Honours) (4 years)Bachelor of Physical Education

The Leo Howard Memorial Bursary will support an international student to study abroad at the University of Queensland in Australia. The bursary is valued at $3000 and will be awarded to assist with the cost of living expenses while studying in Australia.

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

Be an international student

Have applied through UQ’s International Admissions office as a full-fee paying student to study a bachelor degree at UQ

Have already applied for admission to a bachelor degree at UQ and received an offer letter before applying for the scholarship. If you have not yet applied, you can do so here.

The Leo Howard Memorial Bursary is available to undergraduate students at the University of Queensland. You must be enrolled in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law and have achieved a GPA of 6 or higher in your first year of study to be eligible for this award.
